Abstract

This film, made in 1984 in the analog video era before the arrival of digital video, covers the development of the photonic microscope system, which was developed through the combination of optical microscope and photonics in order to conduct the microscopic observation of living cells with real-time digital image processing. This system has been adapted and is currently utilized in a variety of fields. This film provides a memorable account of the development of this system, and should prove of great interest to those working in this field.
